Kimber Warrior

So I decided to sell my Kimber Ultra Stainless Raptor II and get a new 1911 in its place. Ideally I wanted to buy a 4" commander/pro sized model for carry but still have the same size magazine for current and future 1911s. Unfortunately I was unable to find any to my liking so I decided to just get me a railed 1911, something I have been wanting for ever since I sold my Glock 23 that has a rail.

So without further adieu, here is my new Kimber Warrior in .45 ACP. I definitely want to replace the grips, I'm leaning towards Crimson Trace just because I can use it in conjunction with a light... :-D

Only modification is the guide rod spring plug. I swapped out the plain one for a Wilson Combat grooved stainless plug. Of course it's harder to clean because of the grooves...

Here it is after I made a few stainless modifications: Wilson Combat Bulletproof slide stop and plunger tube; Wilson Combat ambi safety, barrel bushing, and guide rod spring plug; Ed Brown Memory Groove grip safety and Chainlink MSH w/lanyard loop, solid Nighthawk aluminum trigger; Harrison Design stainless magazine catch; and Wilson Starburst style grips from Larry Davidson. Everything was fitted by me except the plunger tube. Lots of money and 5 or 6 hours later:

  1. How do you like the Warrior? I like your mods! I've always stuck with Wilson Combat and Nighthawk parts for my 1911s, they're just built better than most I feel like! I'm looking at the Desert Warrior and Warrior SOC right now...debating on which one to get, will probably go with the one that costs less since they are essentially the same. Really wanting to add a FDE 1911 to the collection and I love the way the Warrior looks compared to Sig's Scorpion or Colts CQBP M45.
